Objective

To display my achievements in order to prove myself worthy of being considered a consummate musician in order to work for anyone in any musical situation.

 

 Experience

1992-Present                 Concepts In Drumming                   Northford, CT

Owner and Chief Instructor.

§     Currently have a roster of over 20 students.

§     Will be expanding roster to 40 students.

§     All Vater products are recommended to all students and each is given a pair of Fusion model drumsticks upon registration.

§     Created and maintain the Concepts In Drumming Web Site which soon will be offering On – Line drum lessons. www.cidrumming.com

§     Will be doing drum clinics independently in area schools throughout the Tri-State area. 

1990-Present

Freelance Musician

§         Worked with musical director Arthur Belucci as his exclusive drummer on a multitude of musicals in the Connecticut area in such theaters as  The Shubert Theater in New Haven, as well as performing “Off Broadway” for his original musical “All that Matters”. Musicals performed are as follows: Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, Oliver, Grease, Bye Bye Birdie, Company, George M, Damn Yankees, Phantom of the Opera, Etc….

§         Served as Drum Technician for New England sound and worked with the Woody Herman Orchestra, The Arturo Sandoval Band, and Jack Jones.

§         Hired consistently by area bands for live and studio situations.

 

 

1994-2002            Throughout the Tri-State area.

Drummer with Cubistic Jack

§     Consistently played 100 gigs a year.

§     Played various radio dates on WPLR 99.1 FM. WPLR radio morning personalities, "Smith and Barber" have named Cubistic Jack the "WPLR House Band".

§     Worked various recording sessions at Right Tracks Studios in NYC and Master Sound studios in Queens, NY.

§     Played regularly at various nationally known venues such as Toad’s Place (Opened for Tower Of Power on 11/19/2000 and also for the Radiators in 1999)  in New Haven, CT, Headlined at: Fat Daddy’s in Watertown, CT, The Oakdale Theater in Wallingford, CT, Foxwoods Casino in Ledyard, CT, Le Bar Bat in Manhattan, The Bitter End, Greenwich Village, etc.

§     Frequently headlined numerous outdoor gigs for crowds ranging between 1500-5000 spectators. These include, Opening for the Marshall Tucker Band at the WPLR “rites of Spring” Concert at Yale Field, The Black Rock Oyster Festival, The1998 SONO Arts Celebration, and charity work for the 1999 Bushnell Park Aids March.

§     Winners of the “Emerging artist” contest held at the Milford Oyster Festival in August of 2000.

§     Consistently ranked in the top 3 artists in the Funk section of MPULSE-The Internet Music Chart (www.mpulse.com) as well as being a member of CONNCEPT (www.conncept.com), a Connecticut Band Coalition.

1989 – present              Self taught

§         Through the technical abilities and knowledge of teaching that I have acquired from the Berklee College of Music, I continue to improve my playing and teaching to a level that has earned the reputation among my fellow musicians as one of the best in the State of Connecticut. 

 

1985 – 1988                  Berklee College of Music

§         Studied various facets of drum set playing through labs ensembles and private instruction with the following teachers. Gil Graham, Tommy Campbell, Joe Hunt, Ed Kaspic, Ed Uribe and John Ramsay.

 

 

1976–1984                    Private Instruction with Jimmy Stavris Sr.           

Covered all fundamental aspects of drumming and progressed through intermediate and advanced drum set studies in various musical styles.
